Shipping to the USA - UPDATED AUGUST 29, 2025
On August 29th, an executive order signed by Donald Trump will take effect, removing "de minimis" exemptions that have been in place for decades.
Up until now, goods worth less than $800 have been allowed to enter the United States duty-free under what is known as the "de minimis" exemption. Trump has now signed an order removing this, and all parcels will need to pay applicable duties.
For Canada, the tariff rate imposed by the US is currently 35%. That means every order shipped across the border will suddenly become much more expensive for American buyers, even when the items themselves are small or affordable. The tariff is paid by the consumer, not the business, upon delivery, and unfortunately there is no way for us to ship you your order without these tariffs being assigned as they are assessed and billed when the package crosses the border.
As a result, any order placed by someone with an American delivery address will be held until the tariffs are removed, which will hopefully be soon. Meaning if you place an order on September 1, it will not ship until American customers are no longer being charged tariffs by the American government so that your package does not cost you any extra money upon delivery.
If the tariffs continue for more than sixty days, we will contact you to see if you'd like a refund or would like to continue waiting, and if at any point if you'd like to cancel your order before it has shipped post-tariffs we will be happy to refund you.
If you do choose to place an order, we offer FREE UPS shipping for all orders to the USA over $100 USD. For orders under $100, a flat-rate fee of $12 will apply. When placing an order, please do not use a PO Box as UPS does not ship to boxes; using a PO Box means we will need to ship via USPS which will increase the shipping transit time to 2+ weeks.
Shipping Within Canada
We offer FREE expedited shipping for all Canadian orders over $120. For orders under $120, a flat-rate fee of $15 will apply. You will receive your shipping confirmation email as soon as a label is created for your order, and the tracking status of your shipment may take up to 24 hours to update once scanned in by the post office. All orders ship from Grey Highlands, Ontario.
Shipping outside of the USA and Canada
Unfortunately, at this time we're unable to ship outside of Canada and the USA.
Exchanges & Returns
If you’re not satisfied with your order, send us an email at hello@shywolfcandles.com. We can accept returns and exchanges on new, unlit candles. Refunds will cover the cost of the item returned and do not include shipping fees. As a growing small business, we aren’t currently able to cover return or exchange shipping costs. Thank you for your understanding.
